Q: Does the addition of a 4' piece of pipe have any effect in dissipating

DECEMBER 16, 2008
Late fall season. Winds from the SE, 10-15 mph. Temp 10 degrees.
Burn duration: Appx. 1 hour. One of at least 5 during daylight hours.

n October 2008, following complaints from more than a half dozen adjacent properties, our nuisance complaint was brought before the (then) Oak Grove City Council. We looked forward to a response. We received a letter dated November 14, 2008. It said in part, "Several complaints have been received indicating that smoke is creating a public nuisance. The property owners responded by adding appx. 4' of height to the smoke stack of the OWB in an attempt to get the smoke elevated above neighboring residences, this addition to the stack height was completed by October 10, 2008."

The videos from that date forward were taken following installation of the 4 foot stack addition. To even an untrained eye, it is obvious it has no effect on mitigating the smoke. On this day, as with countless more days and nights for the last several years, the smoke continues to spread everywhere- from ground level to the treetops, stretching for hundreds of feet and dwarfing a large multi car garage and several single story homes. A few feet of tubing has little effect on a problem that covers such a large area
