A SMOKEY THANKSGIVING LEADS TO A PROTEST SIGN
November was a BAD month for anyone who breathes in our neighborhood. Day after
day, night after night the OWB
spews out a pungent, acrid, metallic, wood burning smell. Even Thanksgiving
was a smoke out, for the 2nd year
in a row. We decided it was time to remind our neighbors, and anyone
else coming by for turkey, this is OUR
property, this is OUR neighborhood, and
we refuse to live the emissions caused by such large volume wood incineration.
FYI, we made the sign using our outdoor patio table. It doesn't get much
use as a table anymore, though, since it's
very difficult to sit outside in clouds of smoke like the smoke
shown on the sign.
Our inspiration for the sign came from the photo below. The only reason our
garage door doesn't look like the one
below
is because the weather was too cold to get the spray paint to work. If the
smoke continues to be this bad
in the spring, we are prepared to not only turn the garage door into a giant
billboard, but also the sides of our home,
too. The bigger the better. Why not? My guess is since there's no ordinance
that directly addresses the specific
use of protest signs, by name, they are legal and there is little the City
could do. (to use their words).
GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS!
